Keep in mind that Cay Sal is an unprotected bank. Winds there are mostly easterlies (blowing from the E) most of the time.
"Northeast and easterly winds near Cay Sal reach speeds of 50 km/h (25 knt) 20 - 25% of the time during October-April. Winds during the summer months, winds approach this speed only 6 -12% of the time (US. Naval Weather Service Command, 1975)
Due to the shallow depth of the bank, such winds might not give you more that 6-8 feet swells, but they will be choppy. Now, this is what a choppy sea means, with waves of around 6 feet.
At a percentage of 1 in 5 days or 1 in 8 days to be like that year long, you cannot have a marina in this waves. That's what I was trying to say. It HAS to be protected if it's a marina
